Happy Birthday Schallfeld!

Klangspuren Schwaz, the Tyrolean festival for new music, is celebrating its 30th birthday in 2023.

With the motto Preview – Review”, the focus of the festival was not on a nostalgic look back at many years of festival activity, but on a critical questioning of the past and an examination of our demanding present. The festival focuses on diversity, openness, curiosity and cooperation. The festival took place in Schwaz from the 7th to the 24th of September. Schallfeld Ensemble has been in residence there for two weeks performing three concerts. The last week of the ensemble’s work was dedicated to the workshop called Composer’s Lab. The musicians were working closely with 8 young composers which had been selected to take part in the festival being coached by the tutors Chaya Chernowin and Klaus Lang. Zinajda Kodrič had the chance to chat with all the composers involved and you can now listen to their musical ideas and to their music.
