Erik van de Meerakker führt uns zurück in die 50er Jahre.
In dieser zweiten Folge bringen wir New Zealand fifties Rock and Roll mit seltenen Raritäten 1956-59 hauptsächlich von der Südinsel ,besonders Christchurch ist stark vertreten mit Peter Lewis,Johnny Cooper, Ronnie Sundin und Jack Rigger.

In 1955, less than a year after rock and roll swept through the United States, the sounds of the radical new musical style had drifted across the Pacific Ocean to New Zealand. Parents were horrified by its often suggestive lyrics and sexual rhythms, religious leaders publicly condemned it as the music of the ´devil, and the nation`s youth quickly embraced it. They listened to it. They danced to it. Those with varying degrees of musical talent began performing it. Rock and Roll music had arrived in New Zealand………….
