#15 HEALTH AS COMMONS – STRUGGLES IN EUROPE

This show features a radio documentary by Olivia Lemmens, called ‘Do You Remember?’ (2013). It tells of social and political struggles in the 1980’s UK, through a host of interviews remembering this time. Some speak of resistance, some of community, some of solidarity, some of defeat. How to bring memories alive for tomorrow? We hear of Thatcher and hypermetiatised memory on the one hand, and on the other hand memories of struggles we care about. The miners strikes, Class War, CRASS, struggles for nuclear disarmament, Greenham Common, the printers strikes, the riots of 81 and 85, and many others…
