In Part 2 of “Reflections of an Economic Migrant”, producer Maria-Fe Ortner talks about how Austrian football player David Alaba is held up not only as a model of successful integration, but also as a target for everyday racism. She also talks about the Makartsteg footbridge in Salzburg, and how it has grown to symbolize a new awareness of the city’s collective memory. Finally, she tells the story of how she came to Salzburg and became an economic migrant.
