Testosterone for older men: is it worth it? The answer is: no. Although testosterone has a very good reputation, it does not help older men to stay physically and mentally fit. The studies show no benefit but side-effects.
Calcium tablets for older women—and for some older men, namely very elderly men: are they worth it? The answer again is: no. Although calcium tablets have a very good reputation: the studies show a benefit, but this benefit is very small, and there are some side-effects. Much better, you stick with healthy diet every day, and you would achieve the recommended daily intake of 1000 mg calcium or more. Make sure that you get enough vitamin D, once again healthy diet and not too little exposure to sunlight. And pay attention to lack of exercise, too much alcohol, and cigarette smoking. Correct these risk factors as soon as you can.
