Chinemerem Nwanze is a young Nigerian American. She is based in Los Angeles, California. She grew up speaking Igbo and never appreciated it until she first read what is now her favourite book „Things fall Apart“ by renowned Chinua Achebe. In 2018 she came across an UNESCO report predicting the extinction of the Igbo language by 2025. And she decided to do something against.

Last march she released her book „Kwezuonu, a beginner‘s guide to the Igbo language“. We contacted this young african woman and asked her about her motivations, her book, the importance of learning the mother language and her future projects… She is active on Instagram. Here is her account.
