Crazy Cavan & The Rhythm Rockers were what possibly The Clash were to the Punk Movement, to the Teds Movement. Only that they were much more Underground than Punk ever was. Despite reaching Nr.1 in Finnland with an album of theirs, Crazy Cavan & The Rhythm Rockers remained the best known band among other Unsung Heroes of Rock & Roll.
Cavan Grogan wanted it that way, he stated that he never wanted to be famous, just being able to make music. For him that also meant writing his own material, a further rarity compared to 1950s British Rock & Roll Stars or other Rock & Roll Revival Bands in the 1960s and 1970s — Crazy Cavan also wrote and sang about the Teddy Boy- and Teddy Girl subculture.
This programme features among music by Crazy Cavan & The Rhythm Rockers, as well as artists who were either influenced by him or were his contemporaries, also a brief summary of The Teds culture. Even if you are Punk you should tune in, you should know your enemy 😉
