On the 8th of March an online event of the Centre of Austrian and German studies at the Ben Gurion University of Negev took place that brought together three experts on the topics humor and the act of laughing. The event considered artistic and theoretic approaches and tried to propose ways to reconceptualize the aspects from different angles. Olga Kagan is a scholar in the field of linguistics researching on the relation of language and humor. Nina Tabassomi, director of the Taxispalais Kunsthalle Tirol curated the trilogy “Lieben / Loving”, „Sex“ and „Lachen / laughing“; the latter gave the inspiration for the discussion. Roee Rosen, who was the last spokesman on the online podium, is an Israeli multidisciplinary artist, whose work was exhibited in the exhibition „Lachen / laughing“ in the Taxispalais in 2019/20.
The event, who could happen due to the cooperation with the Cultural Forum Tel Aviv, is summarized in this podcast.
