As seen in the previous sutra, the work in life is to continuously become clearer and more awake to ourselves. Although this book was written hundreds and hundreds of years ago, the audience is very much the same. No matter where we come from on this planet, or what external problems we seem to have, it comes down to always seeming to want what we don’t have.
If vasanas (desires) create these lasting impressions or memories in our soul, why can’t’ we choose peace? The desire to have STUFF and More STUFF that we do not have, or a partner that we don’t have, etc. are creations of the mind. We become trapped within this cycle. This has been the truth for humans since the creation of our existence.
This sutra is adding to the last, where we are invited to live with the purest of actions. Intentional action that does not create a ripple within our consciousness. There is no longer a collection of imprints that will germinate in the future, creating karmas.
As we’ve seen in earlier sutras, the work is in calming these relentless external influence of wild desires and stop being a slave to them. Through this we develop a peacefulness that creates the pure form of action. A cycle of lasting peace and true yoga. SUTRA 4.10 in todays episode and that will to live & LOVE.
