WE ARE YOGA and may we continue to practice together
. Simple in actions and thoughts, you return to the source of being
Delving deeply  into profound insights that guide us toward deeper consciousness. Today, we explore Sutra 4.17:
tat
uparāga
apekṣitvāt
cittasya
vastu
jñāta
ajñātaṃ
— “The object of perception is known or unknown to the mind based on the level of reflection of the object within the mind.”
This sutra reminds us that when we approach a practice—whether it be mantra, meditation, or asana—with expectations, our understanding becomes clouded. True insight comes when the mind is like an uncracked mirror, free from the fractures of expectation. Only then can genuine knowledge, or jnata, be reflected within us. If expectations cloud our perception, the knowledge remains ajnatam, unknown.
Lao Tzu’s words resonate deeply here: “Simplicity, patience, compassion. These three are your greatest treasures. Simple in actions and thoughts, you return to the source of being.” This simplicity invites us to release the grip of expectation. By cultivating patience and compassion, we allow our minds to reflect the true essence of our practice and life.
Join me as I explore how releasing expectations can open the door to profound wisdom and purer consciousness. And the art of being present from the TAOist Tradition… In the world of Taoist philosophy, there exists a concept known as Pu, often symbolized by an uncarved block of wood. This uncarved block represents a state of pure potential and simplicity, unshaped by external influences or preconceived notions. By embracing the philosophy of Pu, we can learn to be more receptive, adaptable, and open to the possibilities of life.
“Music is the universal language of mankind,” said Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, but perhaps Lao Tzu captured the essence of it even more deeply when he remarked, “Music in the soul can be heard by the universe.” This playlist, a carefully curated gift from me to you of world contemporary tunes, my way of bringing together sounds from across the globe, all resonating with the rhythm of the human spirit. Whether you’re seeking a moment of reflection, energy, or connection, each track here invites you to listen with your soul, and in doing so, to hear the echoes of the world around you.
Welcome to this journey through music that transcends borders—this time, and every time.
