Live from Trans*Formations: Gender Euphoria?! Talk Series. Trans*Formations is an event series organized by students of the University of Vienna which showcases recent strands in trans* theorizing and philosophizing. On June 7th, 2026, we host an all-day event under the title Gender Euphoria?! on location at Studio Walls (Löhrgasse 9, 1150 Wien). Be ready for a program spanning talks, performances, music acts, food, a space for shared discussions, and a little screening! The program from 14:00-15:00 was broadcasted on Radio Orange with two talks by Faris Cuchi Gezahegn and Luce deLire.

Faris Cuchi Gezahegn (they/them/their) is a trans-non-binary multidisciplinary artist, a conjurer of global majority cultures, a style activist, and a fierce architect of community. Rooted in Ethiopia and shaped by the experience of seeking refuge in Austria, they have forged a profound and expansive artistic practice — one that wields art as a sacred medium to birth ethereal constellations, especially for Ethiopian Queer folx and, by extension, for all. They co-founded House of Guramayle, a collaborative, intersectional platform created by and for socially and politically marginalized Zega/Queer Ethiopian and horn Africans activists across the world. They also co-founded Alemē (አለሜ), a cultural centre dedicated to art production and creation in Nairobi, Kenya. This space amplifies untold stories and illuminates subjects that demand deep investigation. Through artistic projects, residencies, exhibitions, and community-centred events, Alemē (አለሜ) dares to show what becomes possible when we dare to dream, and what we can create when we feel safe, free, and boundless. They are one of the main curators at MEZEKERE, a space that deliberately anchors its artistic and curatorial reference points in the Global Majority and its diaspora, creating a translocal space with international connections.

Luce deLire is a ship with eight sails and lies by the quay. She holds a PhD in philosophy and publishes on the metaphysics of infinity, political philosophy, art and culture as well as trans and queer themes. She is currently preparing two books, titled „Spinoza on sex, gender and sexuality“ and „EUPHORIA – a treatise on capitalism’s techno tyrants (notably the BABY) and hospitable trans lesbian Utopias“. Her most recent publication is „Critique is over, Morality is dead and Surreal Utopias are where it’s at“ (eflux journal). For more, see: www.getaphilosopher.com
