Simona Gamonte, program coordinator in Human RightS Initiative (HRSI) at the Central European University, elaborates issues that Roma are confronted with, especially concering the education. This year, Gamonte was honored by the Romanian Roma Women Gala (Gala Femeilor Rome) in the category „Human Rights Activist” for her ongoing dedication to work in the field of human rights. She is also among the few Roma women who present themselves as public Roma feminists.
