In this episode Romina Achatz is in conversation with Michael Thomas about „Race and Reality”- which is the title of the book project he is working on. Currently is examining racial aesthetics as an intersection between phenomenological experience and socio-political conditions.

Michael Thomas is an African-American philosopher and social theorist born in Shreveport, Louisiana. His current position is a Humboldt Foundation fellow at the Freie Universtität Berlin’s JFK Institute for North American Studies. His research explores the aesthetic dimension of social life.

In the end, the conversation widens up and they talk about capitalism, sexism and the power structures within institutions.
