Haym Benaroya and Kevin Cannon are in conversation with Barbara Imhof about using local resources to build sustainable bases on the moon and Mars.

Prof Haym Benaroya is from the department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at Rutgers University is well-known for developing concepts for lunar settlements. He has published the famous book Turning Dust to Gold — Building a Future on the Moon and Mars which received the
2012 Engineering Sciences Book Award of the International Academy of Astronautics.

Kevin Cannon is an Assistant Professor for Geology and Geological Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines. His research interests include how geologic processes have formed and modified planetary materials on the surfaces of different solar system bodies and developing and testing hardware concepts for transforming and using planetary materials as resources.
