Luca Guidarini is a composer and reseaercher from Italy. He received a scholarship from the Styrian Artist in Residence program and spent some months in Graz to work with Ensemble Schallfeld on a new composition. In this talk, Luca speaks with Margarethe Maierhofer-Lischka about how his musical background as guitar player influenced his path as a composer, how he aims to combine analog and digital tools of sound creation to look for unknown and unusual timbres and expressions and we hear about his current piece, “as it fits it thrives, it rots” and its unusual setup.
