Sometimes justice is within reach — when people who deeply believe, see, and feel that something is wrong choose to act. Like the colonial theft of important artworks from different countries, later claimed as part of another’s cultural heritage.

That’s why the fusion of art, science, history, and the awareness of one’s own roots — along with respect for others — is so vital. Tonight, we listen to these stories.

We’ll also speak about Eternos Retornos, a project responding to the controversy surrounding the Aztec feather headdress Quetzalapanecoatl, or “El Penacho,” in Vienna’s Weltmuseum — a unique artifact kept in Austria since at least 1596. Calls for repatriation have repeatedly been denied, citing transportation risks as a barrier to its return to Mexico.

Join us at WIENWOCHE Festival 2025 — a powerful event of procession and celebration. People of Vienna, come in person. Friends around the world, tune in to hear our remarkable guest on Ženergija! https://www.wienwoche.org/de
