Several months have passed since the “rose revolution” in Georgia but still many ask a question: was it a real revolution or a banal shifting of generations and teams, just like in sports?

This is the first of a series of broadcasts on Radio FRO featuring the new realities in transition countries of Eastern Europe and the Caucasus.

In the first part of the show Eduard Giorgadze provides an insight into Georgia’s history, culture, economy and poltical system.

The second part features personal stories of political refugees from Georgia now living in Austria. For them one thing is clear: the situation in the country has not changend for the better since Mikhail Saakashvili took over power. It’s still a long way for Georgia to establish democracy.

Eduard Giorgadze, Richard Lang
