Pro Juventute ist eine österreichische Kinder,-und Jugendorganisation die seit 70 Jahren besteht. Kinder ab drei Jahren können in den 30 sozialpädagogischen Wohngemeinschaften in ganz Österreich untergebracht werden. In den WG’s leben ca. 8 bis 12 Kinder, die rund um die Uhr betreut werden. Die WG ErLe in Sandl besteht nun schon das 7. Jahr. ErLe bedeutet erleben und lernen. Mehr dazu in dieser Ausgabe von Soziale Aspekte.

This approach, aimed at minimising the effects of childhood trauma in its various forms is to be applauded.
It sets an example for other countries to follow. A sometimes/often violently disturbed child, physically and or emotionally, will often re-enact the trauma later in life with devastating consequences.
A lack of supportive intervention can therefore manifest a cyclical pattern in generations to follow.
I found this interview interesting and helpful in giving me a better understanding of the needs of the children and a better insight how it works.
