Lecture on some details of the development and emergence of electronic music and electronic instruments.

The lecture gives a short, incomplete overview on the timeline of electronic music’s history.

Further it takes a look on societal, technical and cultural prerequesites and on concepts in the field of arts an their impact and importance on the development streams of electronic music, both as term and as flowering field of music and sound art.

In the final third of the lecture the focus is put on the importance of the contributions from the field of pop-music and the impact of demands of artists and the collaboration of artists and developers.
