Tonight we are talking about the border between art and real life, professional and existential experiences. Incorporating her own work experience, Jelena Micić examines the economic, social, and political postulates of the Austrian labor market, as well as the hierarchical system that defines and regulates the gender and professional roles of (non-)citizen-migrant women from the former Yugoslavia, which is not part of the European Union.

In her contribution to the Wienwoche – Festival for Art and Activism, whose artistic director Jelena is, she problematizes the issue of labor rights, transforms the hierarchies of relations within the world of art and physical labor, and thus makes social inequality visible. The issues of labor rights, and green policies are the theme of the festival that opens on September 16 and until September 25, 2022.
