Honest, and authentic, she always speaks from her perspective and translates it all into her artwork. From a small town in Serbia, Knjaževac, to the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, Željka wonders if she is an artist because she currently works in a bakery to survive because the question of how much it costs to be an artist is a topic of her interest.
In her diploma/artwork, Das Kapital, questions exactly that, the economic conditions required for privileged study in Vienna, and you come from a working-class family. For that artwork, she got First prize at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.

Željka Aleksić, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna in the department of contextual painting, and lately, she expresses herself through painting, performance, and performative sculpture, with a special focus on the insecurity faced by working women in the domain of precarious working conditions.
First prize for a diploma at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna Stipendium study program / Scholarship study program – creative cluster. Kunsthalle Vienna 2023 prize for participation in the exhibition of awarded students for the year 22/23. Finalist of the Dimitrije Bašević Mangelos Award 2023.
