While we sit in the comfort of warm homes, in the company where we work, or by the shore, there are others out in the world, delivering the food we enjoy. These couriers are often unseen, invisible to our eyes, working without proper conditions, without contracts, without the equipment their task demands. Even when the skies darken with storms, when the streets are flooded or the cold bites in winter’s grasp, the only message they receive is: We wish you a safe ride. Yet, what they truly seek is respect, recognition, and dignity for their labor—not just from the companies that employ them, but from all of us who rely on their service. It’s time we see them, honor them, and advocate for the fairness they deserve.

Great guests: Ana Mikadze & Fabio Hofer, „state of matter – Verein für künstlerische Reflexion zur Stärkung des gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalts“ in Vienna, Austria.

Ana Mikadze is a Georgian researcher, artist of Armenian descent (Kars). Their work mainly addresses the legacies of imperialism and colonialism, energy infrastructures, extractivism and working conditions, mostly focusing on the Caucasus. Their practice emerges at the intersection of design, history, and geopolitics. Ana’s work includes installations, spatial investigations, videos, object and text. Ana is running a micro publishing “Xaraxura Press” alongside Mariam Kakhniashvili and Giorgi Kikoria in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Fabio Hofer is an artist/ interdisciplinary designer and food delivery rider based in Vienna, with a special interest in social dynamics and processes of societal change. In his practice he combines political commitment with the design of spaces that manifest as experiences. Using curiosity as a method, he dedicates himself to cultural phenomena in historical change, in open-ended research processes.

We followed the We wish you a safe ride- project as part of the WIENWOCHE festival.
