was drafted in January 1942. He was stationed in the border region between Slovenia and Croatia. After September 8th 1943, he was arrested and deported to what was then called the “Reichsgau Sudetenland”, today Czech Republic. In Ledvice he had to toil in coal mining and lay train tracks. After his liberation by the Sowjet army, he returned to Vinci in September 1945.
