MOVING VOICES, audio collage Ženergija PresenD-Arts

Her work is moved by the urgency of artistic expression as a political action. Her practice is a close alliance between artwork and activism. More than a survival strategy, her approach comes as a response to an era of radical dehumanization, a sense of displacement, and the will to connect and belong.

She joins the dance, and collective dance, she questions consumerism and the use of clothes that are produced and wonders “How many layers ´til I´m gone”. That’s why she’s here with us tonight: Nina Sandino, choreographer, performer, and dance educator.

Nina Sandino was born on the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua but grew up on the Pacific coast of the country, where they later completed a master’s degree in architecture. In Vienna, Nina works as a choreographer, performer, and dance educator. Their work reveals a desire to unite artistic expression and political statements. Sandino’s artistic practice focuses on ancient knowledge ⟬old practices⟭ that promote and strengthens connection within a community through touch and movement ⟬collective dances⟭.ninasandino.com
