apalaver presents an interview with the musician, filmmaker, poetrist and activist Michael Franti. For the last twenty years he deals with vital questions of society: death penalty, rights for homosexuals, aids, American mass media, justice and recently he fights very intensively for peace.

This summer he released the movie called “I know I´m not alone” where he tries to find out about the human cost of the war in Iraq and the occupation in Palestine. On the journey he was confronted with different kinds of structural violence against civilians.

We talk about these structures of violence, about urban forms of music, about Michael Frantis neighborhood hunters point in San Francisco, about the change of people through music, about William S Burroughs, about gaining energy through music and about the effects and the importance of architecture.
